AIMES is rapidly evolving from the previous IGBP/GAIM Task Force to the new IGBP/AIMES Project. This section provides a historic perspective of the documents that have evolved from GAIM to the current state of a draft AIMES Science Plan. In 2005, a Scientific Steering Committee (SSC)will be formalized. The new AIMES SSC along with the IGBP Core Project Chairs will review and modify the existing Science Plan to ensure that AIMES is integrative both with regard to incorporating human and environmental processes into Earth System Models and IGBP Core Project Science activities.
